Our Journey
Frau & Partners was established in 1994 by a group of entrepreneurs and professionals.
The company’s establishment drew on the founder’s extensive experience in insurance brokerage, which began in 1979 with the establishment of ADVISER in Bologna, operating locally until 2002.
Today, the original entrepreneurs are no longer part of the company, with only the founding partners remaining - seasoned professionals in consultancy and insurance brokerage.
Frau & Partners was established in Milan, the centre of Italy’s financial sector, with the primary objective of providing insurance consultancy services to banks and financial institutions.
Since its founding, Frau & Partners has managed the risk portfolios of numerous financial institutions, ranging from conventional exposures (such as BBB policies) to specialised areas, including directors’ and officers’ liability (D&O policies), the professional responsibilities of financial advisors, and reputational and image-related risks.
A defining feature of Frau & Partners - perhaps reflecting the partners’ enduring passion - has been its consistent focus on applying risk management principles, frequently offered independently of traditional brokerage services.
Over the years, the company’s activities have extended beyond financial risk management to specialised areas, including risks for car races, sports-related risks, and non-appearance risks.
It has also provided services across various industrial and professional sectors.
Current Status
Today, Frau & Partners operates in collaboration with B & S Italia S.p.A., under specific commercial agreements. Franco Frau, while remaining the majority partner of Frau & Partners, serves as Executive Director and oversees the brokerage activities of B & S Italia S.p.A., while Daniela Govoni, a long-standing partner, acts as the legal representative and head of brokerage operations at Frau & Partners.
The company’s brokerage activities have been particularly focused on developing insurance solutions for CQS Loans Insurance and bancassurance products.
The Future
The company’s goal is to build on the path it has already pursued, which has brought significant accomplishments, with the ambition of remaining a trusted partner for its clients. The insurance sector is undergoing rapid transformation, and although the future cannot be predicted, Frau & Partners is committed to staying fully responsive to change, combining a proactive and adaptive
